Sampson Sampson Chief Instructor 6th dan
The Sobell Judo Club has been established for over 38 years and we are proud to say that one of the first students to attend back in 1974 was a 14 year old boy called Sampson Sampson.
Sampson took up judo at the age of 14 and by the time he turned 15 he was promoted to Senior black belt, such was his phenomenal ability that by the time he turned 16 years of age he was promoted to
3rd Dan black belt; this was an outstanding achievement in such a short space of time. As far as we are aware,
Sampson holds the world record for the youngest 3rd Dan. He is the proud holder of over 300 gold medals, winning numerous Judo competitions at national and international level. His unrivalled technical knowledge and mastery of judo,it's dynamics and logic is matched only by his agility, speed and phisical ability on the mat. He has earned the nickname
The Greek Samurai! In 2005 Sampson was finally grade of
6th dan red and white belt after many years of fighting and resisting the many political and beurocracy 's in judo. 6th dan is a very high grade which is respected highly all over the world. At 44 years old Sampson was still one of the youngest 6th dans in the country Today even though he is ove 50 he still fights at the highest level and still outperforms much younger and high performanced judoka. .
