Beginners information
The Sobell Judo Club runs a comprehensive teaching structure which caters for all primary and junior judoka. We allow children to start judo from the age seven years onwards.
Age groups are categorised as follows:
- Primary : 7 years to under 10 years
- Juniors : 10 years to under 16 years
- Adults : 16 years + . These classes run for two weeks, in conjunction with the regular class.
We run regular induction classes for all beginners which are normally held once a month. Times and dates of these classes may very due to demand. Dates are normally advertised on the front page of web site.
The primary and junior induction classes are held on Wednesdays 6.00pm - 7.30pm.
Senior induction classes are held on Mondays 7.30pm - 9.00pm
The non-refundable fees are as follows;
- primary and juniors is £12 for two weeks
- senior fee is £15 for two weeks.
Once you have completed the two week induction class, you will then pay a standard mat fee every time you attend.
Please note: not everyone may be suited to do Judo for many reasons. The judo instructor will assess you throughout the induction course and inform you as to whether he/she feels you are suitable.
If you would like to come along then please phone us on 0771 489 7381 to book a place on the induction course. Once you have done this, please download the application form (click on the link). Fill this form and bring it with you when you attend.
Please read and pay close attention to the "beginners programme" which outlines the requirements (e.g. what to bring) as well as what you will do on the two week course.
