Nima Akbari has been a student at the Sobell since he was a child. Since then he has been a core member of the team regularly competing on the WJF international circuit and securing his fair share of medals.

After a short break in his training, he returned to judo with full focus in 2022 and In 2023, he was awarded his 1st dan black belt at the JFAUK Sussex Summer Camp by Sampson Sampson. Now, he continues to develop his own understanding of judo whilst giving back to the community by assisting in our junior classes, helping our youngest members of the club to enjoy and learn judo.
