A massive congratulations to Karl Summerbell and Fahd Dalah for achieving their nidans! Both men have been working hard on their theory and during their recent trip to Greece for an international competition, they were assessed for the competitive side of the grading.
Karl Summerbell has been a member of the Sobell Judo Club since he was a mere 5 years old and has since grown into a formidable judoka. Despite being born with cerebral palsy, he has never let anything get in his way. He achieved his 1st Dan in 2016 and has regularly competed and won against both impaired and abled bodied judoka, truly showing that if there is a will, there is a way. Karl is a true inspiration to everyone at the club. Congratulations, very well deserved.
Fahd Dalah is too a fantastic judoka and asset to the Sobell Judo Club. He has worked tireless under the guidance of our coaches, and recently turned his hand to teaching himself. He achieved his 1st Dan in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength, regularly medalling at competitions, including winning his first ever in international gold medal at the 2022 Matsuura International cup earlier this year. Very well deserved Fahd, congratulations.
